Ohio Ballot Uprising

Pass Laws Politicians Won't

Ohio Ballot Uprising is how we take back power. When politicians stall, we write the laws ourselves and organize to pass them at the ballot box. Every member has a say in what we fight for and how we win. Change doesn’t trickle down. It rises from the ballot.

WHO WE ARE

It's Not a Campaign. It's a Movement.

We’re done waiting on politicians to do the right thing. Ohio Ballot Uprising is a group of citizens who write our own laws and organize to pass them at the ballot box. Members decide together which issues to take on, then work side by side to get them on the ballot and win.

Our Path to Win Together

1. You Submit the Idea

Any Ohioan can propose an idea that puts people over profit. Members of Ohio Ballot Uprising vote on which ideas move forward, so the agenda is driven by regular people, not politicians or corporate donors.

2. We Draft a Law

Our legal team drafts the chosen idea into clear, legally sound ballot language. We make sure it meets all state requirements and can stand up to court challenges.

3. We Organize Across Ohio

We launch a campaign to get the initiative on the ballot with the help of members across the state. Volunteers collect signatures, spread the word, and build support through both digital tools and on-the-ground organizing.

4. We Win at the Ballot Box

Once it qualifies, we run a statewide campaign to pass the initiative. If Ohio voters approve it, the idea becomes law without needing permission from the legislature.

Ohio is one of the only states that allows citizens to propose constitutional amendments, statutory laws, and referendums to repeal existing laws. That means we can go big on almost anything the legislature refuses to act on

No. Ohio Ballot Uprising is completely independent. We don’t endorse candidates or coordinate with political parties. Our focus is on people-powered laws, not politicians.

It starts with drafting language, then collecting hundreds of thousands of signatures across the state. Once enough valid signatures are gathered and approved, the issue appears on the ballot for voters to decide.
